Blade of the Immortal is one of the best manga series I have ever read. The detailed artwork of Hiroaki Samurai is just fantastic; the characters are all three-dimensional and the fighting scenes are very realistic and easy to picture in one's head. Every character has their own linguistic style which makes them even more interesting and mysterious. The grabbing plot is what keeps me on the edge of my seat after finish reading every issue. The story is not simply about sword fighting, yet the double-page drawings of fighting scenes don't seem extraneous at all. <BR>I've read all four of the books that have came out. Each of them is a branch from the main plot line. So one doesn't have to start from the beginning. I highly recommend this series to anyone who has the slightest interest in Japanese manga.
